Bill and Eddy's Big Bike Ride

This year, the outgoing President, Cllr Peter Hailstones, chose The Donna Louise Trust, a local hospice for children. One remarkable fund-raising event was called "Bill & Eddy's Big Bike Ride".Bill Barker and friend Eddy Colclough completed a truly epic cycle ride following the East Coast Route in the USA. - a staggering ride of 2500 miles. The journey began in Boston Massachusetts and ended in Key West Florida, passing through a total of eleven states. Bill and Eddy were totally self-funded and all monies raised will go to the Hospice. Their achievement is even more remarkable as both "lads" are in their seventies.The ride began May 12th and was completed on June 22nd. The Club Members sponsorship of £347 was just one of many who supported the cause, raising a grand total of £3165.00.
